At TAHTO, visitors can experience the stories and joy of sport. The exhibitions offer things to do, activities, and history for everyone. Located at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, the complex includes the sports museum exhibitions, the Sports Adventure (Liikuntaseikkailu), one of the world\u2019s most extensive libraries specializing in sports and physical activity, and the national Sports Archives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TAHTO is the only general sports museum in Finland and carries designated national responsibility for museum activities in the field of sports and physical activity. TAHTO\u2019s Sports Archives serve as the national central repository of documents of Finnish sports organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>36, 000 objects<br>2, 000 linear meters of archives<br>30 000 books<br>500, 000 photographs<br>thousands of bound newspaper volumes<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MISSION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We boldly open new perspectives on the past, present, and future of sport. Through our services, we bring Finnish culture to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">VISIO<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TAHTO is an active and courageous forerunner in sports culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TAHTO safeguards the intergenerational continuity of Finland\u2019s national sports culture by creating experiential, impactful, and engaging services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the core of TAHTO\u2019s work are its unique museum collections and its recognized expertise in the history and culture of sports and physical activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TAHTO broadens understanding of sport and physical culture so that every Finn can find a connection to them. At TAHTO, all sport and physical activity carry value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a national museum operator, TAHTO reaches more than 100,000 visitors annually, and the impact of its activities can be measured in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We operate in a culturally sustainable way, safeguarding valuable cultural heritage for future generations. We identify the environmental aspects related to our operations and continuously assess and improve our activities with environmental considerations in mind. We aim to reduce our environmental impact and increase environmental awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We support our staff and visitors in making environmentally sustainable choices. In our exhibition activities, we strive to reuse and recycle structures and materials. Products selected for the museum shop follow the principles of sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Sports Museum Foundation of Finland<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TAHTO Center for Finnish Sports Culture is managed by the Sports Museum Foundation of Finland, established on March 2, 1938.
